Chateau George 7 2019 is another excellent vintage. Hard on the heels of the expressive 2018, 2019 is most certainly in the same vein but with subtlety and elegance complementing the fresh, fleshy red and black fruit and beautiful oak flavours. Silky tannins and seamlessly integrated alcohol complete this wonderfully balanced wine that has layers of flavours to keep on giving.
100% merlot from 35-year old vines in the parcels adjoining the winery.
Fermented in large 500l French oak barrels then matured in 225l barrels for 15 months.
Drink from mid-2022 for up to 15 years. It will likely reach its peak around 2024.

"The 2019 George 7 offers earthy black fruit on the nose, well-defined but requiring time to open.
The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, lovely, pure, fleshy red and black fruit and seamlessly integrated oak on the finish. An excellent Fronsac in the making."On Primeur:

“Bright zippy, great freshness to the fruit. A plush 100% Merlot, with layers of chocolate and damson that build up over the palate. Another good Fronsac in the 2019 vintage, from a new winery now in its 3rd vintage. 30% new oak.”

“A juicy, red with chocolate and hazelnut on the nose and palate. It’s medium-full bodied. Lightly chewy finish.”

“Lots of red plums, licorice, baking spices and hints of chocolate emerge from the 2019 Château George 7, loaded with fruit, this beauty has sweet tannins and a soft, charming style that’s going to drink nicely on release.
